Adra housing association welcomed Siân Gwenllian MS and Hywel Williams MP to Cae Rhosydd to see how old farmland full of history near Rachub has been transformed to create an affordable housing development.
Adra, the largest housing association in north Wales, has developed the site to include 30 modern homes, including 26 houses and 4 bungalows, which are a mix of social rent and intermediate rent homes.
All the houses on the development have an energy performance certificate (EPC) of A, with solar panels, heated using Air Source Heat Pumps and fitted with electric car charging points.
According to Siân Gwenllian MS:
“A high proportion of my caseload is related to the urgent need for housing, and it’s encouraging to visit a new development that plays a part in addressing that need.
“It is also good to hear that sustainability is at the heart of the development, and that Adra is doing their part in investing in green technology in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the homes.
“I’m looking forward to seeing local families and individuals start a new chapter in their lives in these houses, ensuring that the Rachub community continues to thrive.”
Hywel Williams MP added:
“I was very pleased with the opportunity to visit the new development. The standard is excellent and the houses and bungalows will provide local people with the permanent transport homes that are so much in demand.”
