MS marks Air Ambulance Week

Air Ambulance Week commences today, with the focus on raising awareness of the charities’ vital work

Siân Gwenllian MS is amongst individuals supporting Air Ambulance Week this week.

Air Ambulance Week commences today (6th September 2021), and the campaign tagline this year is “Every Second Counts Every Penny Matters.”

The majority of UK air ambulance charities are taking part, and the tagline refers to the vital work of Air Ambulances in saving lives.

Siân Gwenllian represents the Arfon constituency as their Member of the Senedd, and she joined other individuals such as Welsh rugby’s James Hook in marking Air Ambulance Week today;

“I’m glad to have the opportunity to mark this year’s Air Ambulance Week, and to reiterate their message that ‘Every Second Counts Every Penny Matters’.

“The rapid, ‘on scene’ care that the air ambulances can offer patients before reaching the hospital in many cases proves to be crucial.

“The work they do every day is appreciated, but the reality is that each air ambulance call out can costs up to £2500 or £3500.

“Every penny really does count.”

Air Ambulance Week 2021 is held between the 6th and 12th of September 2021.
