I’m pleased to note today as an important one on the journey towards equality for women. The Representation of the People Act was passed on 6 February 1918 and gave some women the vote.

We continue to strive for full equality in all aspects of life. It’s a journey that has seen women lose their lives. It continues to be a long and tiring journey.

But my generation of women are determined to give full support to the young female voices who are increasingly indignant about the way they are treated in modern Wales, making us as determined as ever to prioritise the need to reach full equality - determined to hurry the work along – and to put the need for gender equality at the heart of the political agenda in Wales.
